Re: high peaked biceps

I agree, preachers are great. A lot of it is genetics and overall mass in the arm region. Don't forget to build triceps, they make up at least 2/3 of your arm mass as well. Standing high-cable curls are also recommended.

For variety substitute EZ bar preacher curls for incline dumbbell curls, and reverse barbell curls for hammer curls. Don't worry about developing a "peak", that only comes when the bicep gets bigger. Some guys genetically have a high peak, you cannot change your genetics by doing certain exercises, all you can do is make the bicep bigger, which will give it a higher peak along with thickness.

Article on biceps from bb.com

Like is said, different structured biceps is affected by genetics. More generally big biceps will obviously make a bigger peak.

I read something else about biceps but don't know off the top of my head, will tell you in the morning

peace

Re: high peaked biceps

In terms or biceps I think specific excercises should be supported on. For me my routine included what i think are key bicep building excercises:

Straight Bar Curls
Incline Curls
Preacher Curls
Hammer Curls
Concentration Curls

-Don't forget though you're focused on having peaked biceps, the majority of the arm is made more of the tricep, focus well on the triceps as well if you're goal is the add overall arm size and mass.

Another suggestion:

Dumbell movements in which you utilize the twisting of the wrist as you raise the dumbell and concentrate on the top third of the range of motion. Remember to flex your bicep as hard as possible at the top of the lift.

Remembering that your bicep also controls twisting the wrist

Ohhh, thats intersting to know. Every time I do that I get tired in the wrist but I didn't know it connected/had any relation to the bicep. I just learned something new today!!

Re: high peaked biceps

Yep, such action is called supinating. Supinated Curls are very effective, I also suggest doing supinated incline curls, the flex of the wrists really help isolate the biceps on the top motion along with the difficulty of incline curls themselves add up to a great exercise.

Re: high peaked biceps

yeah its genetic to have really high peaked biceps, like me i have thick tricep mass, and good bicep strength and mass but very little peak at all, so my arms(15.5") are mostly tricep i guess! but hey bb greats like Kevin Levrone never had a very good peak either but sick triceps though, some of the best ive ever seen.
