Taking a Break from Training

Well Ive been working out at least 4 days sometmes alot more each week, not including soccer games and practice, for the lat 16 months.
I think Im gonna take a week off from the weights and cardio.I heard on a podcast that you should take a break every ten weeks or so from training.

The reason is today I got ready to do my chest day and I just had no energy or the usual drive that I have to do it.Also my quats are sore from squats and deadlifts yeaturday but I can work through that.I suppose I am experiencing a tad bit of burn out.

Does this sound sensible ?

Thanks as always
JP

Re: Training Break

Yes, I have had this happen to me. i have also taken breaks sometimes and I normally feel great going back and sometimes feel a lot stronger. Just beware of getting lazy and not going back after the week, that tends to be the catch for people.
