Abs at the Beginning or End of Work Out?

yo whats up guys
Should I be doing my ab workout in the beginning or the end of the work out? I can think of pros and cons for both but I'm sure that one is more recommended than the other.

Thanks
Motof

Re: Abs at the Beginning or End of Work Out?

I don't think it makes any difference from a physiological standpoint. I personally like to perform the most challenging excercises first like a deadlift, squat, bench press, millitary press, ect. That way I have the most energy and intensity for the most challenging excercises. Typically abs are at the bottom of the list of challenging excercises so they are usually at the end of my workout. However, that certainly doesn't mean they get lack luster effort. Just as with any other muscle you must overload it consistently to elicit a growth response. However I find that relatively easy to accomplish with abs as they are a small muscle group so it takes less force to do so.

I do mine at the end usually, as while I'm in the mood I like to work my chest and other more 'important' muscles. Either that or I'll do them mid-workout if I'm feeling tired.
