Fitness Training At Home

hey guys & gals
Does anyone here train at home? I've met a couple people recently who do not have a gym membership and I think it would be helpful to share what you can do at home (for very cheap or for free).

Some obvious things just off the top of my head (and from the other thread):

Jumping Jacks
Yoga
Sit Ups
Push Ups

Re: Fitness Training At Home

I train at home.
I have a bench w/ 300lb weight, plus dumbells and squat bar (no rack yet)
I have a treadmill, bycycle and pullup bar and of course a mat.
push up handles and resistance tubes.

The main drawback is you have no spotter so you cannot push it all the way on the bench or other dangerous stuff.
The main benefit besides money and time savings is IM ALWAYS THE STRONGEST GUY AT THE GYM

Re: Fitness Training At Home

I've never had a gym membership. I started with just some dumbbells at home. Now I have a full gym which I opened to the public.

It costs very little to invest in a barbell and plate weights and some dumbbells. Add in a pull up bar. That's adequate to have a great weight training rotuine. Cardio can be done outdoors, or get an aerobics DVD for rainy days. Saves so much money and time in the long run.

Congrats on your work Sarah, sounds like a great upgrade

Jonathan, your gym looks nice, I'd love to have that in my house, gonna have to wait on that for the future tho, gym is working nicely for now.

Dumbbells are definitely key in a home gym because you can make so many different workouts with them. The ones that are variable are nice too, I think Bowflex made some adjustable ones and I've seen some other brands out there too.
