Qualifications Looking to Learn More I've Been to the Gym | Hi All - Recommendations for initial fat loss? Any recommendations on supplements to take as I'm planning on starting my workout regime? I'm a noob but am taking the plunge and using this year as my year of bulking up. I'm 39 years old, 6'4' and weigh in around 19 stone. I'm naturally a big guy and dont really look fat but am carrying it generally spread all over myh body. I would like to know if its worth dropping some weight before building muscle or do I just go for it now? fat shredders? mass builders? whey? what? it's all greek to me.... Any help appreciated... |

Qualifications Personal Trainer | Re: Hi All - Recommendations for initial fat loss? Unless you're a competitive bodybuilder there is no reason to go through phases of cutting and bulking. The best and most effective way is to eat clean year round and train hard in the gym. You can should be able to gain muscle while maintaining your condition or losing fat. If you're a new to weight training you most likely won't need a lot of supplements right now. I wouldn't worry too much about that yet. Likely simply adding an effective training program and diet will do wonders for you. If you want to add supplements, remember they are just that...to supplement a healthy diet. If you diet & training aren't already in order supplements won't do anything for you. I would recommend only the basics like a whey protein, meal replacement, and multi-vitamen. Best! |

Qualifications Looking to Learn More I've Been to the Gym | Re: Hi All - Recommendations for initial fat loss? Thanks Chris - I've opted for a low fat diet for a couple of weeks (lots of fruits and veg basically) to give me a kick-start. Started today.. just had my first spicy cabbage & mixed veggie soup for lunch. Surprised myself by really enjoying it! |
