Best & Cheapest Post Workout Meal

Best Post Workout : Whey Isolate + Oats (steel cut or rolled) + 7-12g leucine = better/cheaper than ALL

Anyone who thinks they can show me a single peer reviewed, medical study showing there to be a single post workout drink that this, you may call me collect.

Results will speak for themself, and you can thank me later.

I would say throw in some simple sugars(dextrose/Maltodextrin), It will cause an insulin spike in your body. An insulin spikewill allow your muscles to get the carbs they needs after a workout. As well as increase the amount of protein you can intake. Insulin is responsible for:
Quote:
Control of cellular intake of certain substances, most prominently glucose in muscle and adipose tissue (about 2/3 of body cells).
Quote:
Increase of DNA replication and protein synthesis via control of amino acid uptake.

Bottom Line the best time to get your simple sugars is right after a workout, and right when you wake up. Don't rule out the sugar after a workout.
Show me a study with your claim.

He's right. They should especially be avoided in any meal prior to working out.

This is the best research that I have found on PWO nutrition. It does however include high GI carbs within the "Window of Opportunity.

Re: Best & Cheapest Post Workout Meal

Yeah man, i would have to go with the majority here, get some simple carbs right after your workout. Go for the closest food to a 1:1 dextrose(glucose)/fructose ratio. Glucose reloads the muscle and fructose reloads the liver. and fructose thats not burned goes to fat.

so, immediately after your workout
BCAA/EAA's (1/4 teaspoon per 35 pounds bodyweight)
also, a banana would be very efficient.

remember juices are mostly sucrose, which in turn will go to fat.
