Heating Creatine

I figured there can't be too many creatine threads out there... and I couldn't find a good one to put this in.

Basically, I aw wondering if putting creatine monohydrate in a heated liquid breaks it down or does anything to it chemically that would reduce it's affects.

I am thinking that it could be better tasting if mixed in with like apple cider, tea or something like that. From what I have done so far, it seems to dissolve a lot easier too, but not sure what the effects of this are.

Thanks!

Re: Heating Creatine

Many people recommend not to heat up supplements because a lot are degraded. Check the packaging for one - normally it will say to store it in a cool area and to me that would mean heating it can be bad.

I found some resources too

Another idea is to drink your creatine in a hot full sugar cordial drink, like blackcurrant. However do not mix creatine into boiling fluids as creatine is destroyed at very high temperatures, let your drink cool to drinkable temperature before adding the powder

Likewise, I would not recommend it at very high temperatures but I would think you could pour it into some moderately warm fluid. Especially since when it gets into your body it will be heated up anyways.
