Qualifications Avid Bodybuilding Reader Looking to Learn More I've Been to the Gym | New Protein Shake Whats up I had a quick question about protein shakes. Right now I am using Muscle Milk and Cytogainer as my protein shakes. I just ran out of Muscle Milk and the Cytogainer is hard to mix for your average drink (I use cytogainer for post workout shakes because I can take the time to blend and prepare it before going to the gym). I kinda feel like switching up my protein shakes and trying out another one. Does anyone have some good suggestions on a protein shake that is easy to mix on the go? Any help would be great, Late |

Qualifications Avid Bodybuilding Reader Looking to Learn More I've Been to the Gym | Re: New Protein Shake hey I'm assuming that taste matters quite a bit to you, as most Muscle Milk lovers do. I would have to say, regardless of having excellent taste, Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey is a great drink. It blends really easily and taste pretty good. It has a very thin taste which I like. Also, it has 28 grams of protein in each scoop and a little over 4 grams of glutamine. I really like this because of the amount of glutamine, muscle milk only has 2 grams each serving. If you would like to test it, they make a small version too so you don't have to buy the big bottle. Tell me how you like it Peace |

I'd say the price is worth the effort peace |

Qualifications Avid Bodybuilding Reader Looking to Learn More I've Been to the Gym | Re: New Protein Shake I am currently taking the ON Whey and I really like it and would definitely recommend it. It mixes a lot easier than other drinks I have tried and tastes smooth. I don't like the thick taste / feeling of a lot of protein shakes. Whey protein |

Qualifications Professional Bodybuilder Nutritionist Personal Trainer I've Been to the Gym | Re: New Protein Shake Upon waking - Whey Isolate (highest bioavailability) - Since your body has been starving the past 6-8 hours Post workout - Whey isolate + Oats + Leucine = best post workout shake possible. Better than anything currently marketed and 75% cheaper when made with raw materials. Before bed - low bioavailable protein Milk based protein (Casien) When bulking - adding Oats + natty peanut butter to protein will provide a great source of calories (clean), and all the protein, good fats, and carbs you need. Mass Meal by Ergopharm is currently the best gainer on the market if one chooses not to make their own as mentioned above. Muscle Milk and CytoGainer are not even in the same league. |

Oats+nat. pb can also be great while cutting; those and honey can often be a good way to curb sweets cravings. Just make sure it all works into your aggregate macro breakdown. For cutting, figure out your maintenance cals and then reduce by around 10%. Get you macro breakdown to around 35% / 45% / 20% for carbs/protein/fats. For bulking, figure out your maintenance cals and then increase by around 500 cals. Get you macro breakdown to around 40% / 40% / 20% for carbs/protein/fats. | |

Qualifications Avid Bodybuilding Reader Looking to Learn More I've Been to the Gym | Re: New Protein Shake I've been using "optimum whey gold standard" and i've liked it alot. it mixes well with water and milk on the go. Although it only has about 24 grams of protein per scoup, it's 79% protein by weight. If that's not enough Optimum also offers one with about 40 something grams. it's really good, and each scoup has 4 grams of glutamine, gluatime precursors and 5 grams of lecuine, isoleucine, and valine. it only has 120 cals and 3g of carbs... i love it and i wont use anything else.... and most importantly it taste amazing |

Yea, I agree that stuff is amazing. The taste is excellent and it mixes perfectly Quote:
I think that is right around the optimal amount your body is supposed to intake of whey protein at once.
