Qualifications Looking to Learn More I've Been to the Gym | Eating a Bigger Breakfast I am looking to lose a lot of weight. I heard that eating more at breakfast can help you to eat less at other meals. Is this a good thing to do? Last edited by admin : 02-13-2007 at 12:37 AM. |

The idea is to still eat every 3 hours to keep your metabolism up. Eating large meals or stuffing yourself or even missing meals slows down your metabolism. You have to figure that you sleep say 8 hours. Now you divide your meals into the remaining 16. That leaves eating at about every 3 hours. Small frequent meals every 3 hours, speed up your metabolism, and keep a good nitrogen balance. Note: I am guilty of eating too much at meals. I really should follow a better eating plan! Qualifications Avid Bodybuilding Reader I've Been to the Gym | Re: Eating a Bigger Breakfast Breakfast gets day started off right and can burn it off during the day. Eggs and oatmeal and fruit are good choices. Other times of the day eat more meals but smaller portions mixing protein and carbs. The big dinner eat at night, especially late before resting for night, more likely to turn into fat. |

Qualifications Nutritionist Personal Trainer I've Been to the Gym | Re: Eating a Bigger Breakfast Personally as a nutritionist I don't go for the calorie tapering. For those trying to lose weight I typically recommend all meals be approximately the same size. This keeps the blood sugar more stable and the metabolism up. The last meal being a bit small is reasonable because we tend to be less active at night. I definately agree on combing carbs and protein at breakfast, and all meals actually. That's just my views. Qualifications Personal Trainer Avid Bodybuilding Reader Looking to Learn More I've Been to the Gym | Re: Eating a Bigger Breakfast To gain weight you would want to eat 5 - 6 large meal a day containing 1 meal every 2 - 3 hours. To lose weight you do much similar. You eat 5 - 6 small meals per day contraining 1 meal every 2 - 3 hours. If you don't mood eat which will cause you to over-stuff yourself and just snack on small groups of healthy foods you will begin to lose weight. |
