Good Pre-Work-Out Meal

hi guys

I have done a lot of reading about what post work-out meals consist of, but haven't heard as much about pre work-out meals. What are some key properties that a good pre-work-out meal would consist of?

Re: Good Pre-Work-Out Meal

I don't know what you've read on the post-workout meal, but the two principles are the same. You looking for a fast digesting protein source and a high GI carb to either boost muscle glycogen level pre-workout to give needed energy, or to re-build those same levels post workout. The best thing is a protein shake and a glucose based transport system. If you want to add other goodies like creatine, glutamine, ect. go ahead. Liquid is easy because it digests fast. You should literally finishing drinking this right before you leave the locker room to go train. And start drinking your post-workout shake before you walk out of the gym to leave.

Protein and carbs, same as after your workout. Minimal fat. Sweet potato and chicken is a good one.
