Qualifications Looking to Learn More I've Been to the Gym | Politics, Diet, and Malnutrition Politics, diet, and malnutrition - I certainly have never seen that combination before. As I was reading up on low-fat diets, I came across part of their origin. I guess George McGovern, part of a senate committee, wanted to work on fighting malnutrition but then switched to preventing "overnutrition" (havent heard of this before). I guess people immediately believed that fat was always bad and was a primary cause of obesity in the US and A (has anyone seen Borat?). This was in the 1970s and I guess lead to a lot of the low-fat diets because Fat always = bad. Gary Taubes covered this whole issue in Science Magazine Interesting history to all this

Qualifications Avid Bodybuilding Reader Looking to Learn More I've Been to the Gym | Re: Politics, Diet, and Malnutrition Yes, definitely can't stress that enough - NOT all fat is bad! Fat is a core part of your diet and very necessary. The key is to consume the right fats in the right moderation.
