Whats up I have heard a lot of peoples' opinions on motivation but was wondering...How do you keep yourself motivated and on routine? Participating in forums / reading about bb? Pumping Iron movie? etc -:John:-

Qualifications Avid Bodybuilding Reader Looking to Learn More I've Been to the Gym | Re: What Is Your Motivation? To me, you have to decide that working out will be a part of your lifestyle. It's real easy in high school, because you have a PE period that mandates participation. Once you leave school, that's when self discipline comes into play. I've always wanted to stay healthy and have a muscular build. Plus, the weightroom is a place that I can get away from everyday life...it's sort of a stress reliever. I look forward going to the gym after work. Some people prefer beer and the bars; I prefer iron. When you have a muscular appearance, you'd be suprized at how people approach you. They approach you differently as compared to if you had a skinny build or were obese. Being fit gives you an advantage because you're perceived as powerful and being productive. I love that perception. |

Qualifications Looking to Learn More I've Been to the Gym | Re: What Is Your Motivation? Even though I only work out about 3 times a week, my motivation would be knowing that i'm doing something healthy and making my body as fit as it can be. Sometimes I dont eat the best things do help that department out but I try my best to stay fit. Besides working out has built some of my confidence in myself a little, knowing I can pushmy body to its limits and more is really a drive for me ![]() |

I keep myself motivated by reading certain magazines and switching up my work out routine ever so often so that I do not get bored in the gym. I notice that the place is dead during the summertime which actually works better for me because I dont like to socialize when I am there. What keeps me motivated is the results I am seeing and wanting to look in top shape at the pool. |

Qualifications Personal Trainer Avid Bodybuilding Reader Transformationed | Re: What Is Your Motivation? Bodybuilding is just appart of my life, if it wasn't there I would have a hole. I don't know what that would be considered. But when I first started to get into lifting my main motivation was to see what I would be able to do with my body. If I would be able to build a world class physique by the time I hit my 20's. That is a Goal still and I will succeed. I also was motivated to get to that goal because bodybuilding was a positive way for me to gain confidence, self respect, knowledge(in school, gym, nutrition, and so on), and a positive outlook on things in life. Bodybuilding is my life, it is my soul, and it is the greatest thing I have ever done. Pumping Iron and Arnold's Encyclopedia also are good motivators.
