Sex and Training?

I was curious. Does sex really break training? I have heard some mixed answers about this.

Re: Sex and Training?

I haven't thought of it as breaking training, however, on the same note of Ejaculation and Testosterone, I found this interesting piece on wikipedia. Made me take a different outlook on my testosterone / sex cycle.

Quote:

A 2001 study examined the effect of a 3-week period of sexual abstinence followed by masturbation-induced orgasm. It found that abstinence over such periods "does not change the neuroendocrine response to orgasm but does produce elevated levels of testosterone in males."

A 2003 study showed that serum testosterone levels reach a peak seven days after abstaining from ejaculation.

EDIT:
This information no longer exists on the Testosterone wikipedia page so its validity is questionable. I will keep looking for some scientific backing.

Re: Sex and Training?

I would like to know, my friends say that you lose some weight during/after sex. I would imagine because of all the movement and intercourse can cause such a workout. Anyone care to share? Personally I think it has some truth to it

Re: Sex and Training?

unless you are not the average male which lasts 5 min then sex is like a workout if you dont release quickly. but also at the same time you are burning calories

Re: Sex and Training?

In my own experience if I have sex the night before lifting I'm in a good mood and it almost seems to help. If I have sex in the morning before lifting it really just takes too much out of me and I have a horrible workout.
