Chest Physique Help

Lately, I've been getting alot of compliments of having a huge chest. Something I very much like to hear, however, my big chest that I am very proud of has no shape. It's no necissarily the inner part of my chest though, it's the outter portion that has alot of lose skin around it that covers up any tone. I also have alot of nipple fat that I've pretty much always had.

Here are my goals, the things I mainly want to put my focus on are chest, shoulders, back, and legs. Arms? Their not really a big concern of mine. My main concern on chest really isnt the size, it's the shape, I want to shape my chest. My back has had alot of improvement (IMO) and which I will add new pics on sometime today. A friend recommended me to begin doing dips, I'm not really sure what I'm going to do though. If I can just get rid of my stomach (not a big problem it's just where I drink alot of pop) and shape my chest I'll be happy. Anyone has advice I'll thank you very much.

Re: Chest Physique Help

You know it's so easy for myself as a bodybuilder to realize this because you can't hide weaknesses on stage or in front of the camera, but so many people jdon't see the big picture. Many times people just want to develop certain bodyparts. Even if that's the case I believe you're doing yourself a dis-service by only focusing on certain bodyparts or more so on certain muscle groups than others. It's actually counterproductive to train less effectively on the other parts even for the parts you are looking for development in. So many muscle groups get indirect work especially when doing compound lifts. Even if you want certain muscle group development it will help you get that by training every muscle group just as hard and as focused. And there is no secret training for one muscle group over another. If you're looking for aesthitics I usually recommend varying between classic strength work (lower volume, heavy loads, faster rep tempos, compound lifts) and hypertorphy work (more volume, lighter loads, slower rep tempos, more isolation work) and continue to vary your training every 4-8 weeks.

When it comes to shaping your bodyparts that is simply a matter of reducing your bodyfat. Cardio will help, but your diet will be the biggest factor. Definately try to cut down on soda. I know it tastes good but has no nutritioal value and a lot of un-neccessary calories especially if you drink a lot. Post your diet if you need diet help. Best!

It looks like MVP will be hitting the whole body - abs?

Who said there was a secret?

So why does exercise equiptment have decline and incline positions?

If I want a well rounded chest developed in the upper, inner, middle , and lower areas, should I just do bench press and clenbuterol?

Re: Chest Physique Help

I worked in a US steel mill with a few guys who had great strength and a nice looking upper body. They never lifted a barbell in their life. The upper body looked fine because of the work they performed every day. These guys had a thing where they would work their legs by using exercise trails along our three rivers. Thats it!

The way I feel is if your an average person, and looking for a change, or want to concentrate on a certain area of your body and this is what you want to do, so be it. Some of the nicest chest development I have seen, was on guys at the local lock-up. Dips and decline push-ups off the lunch table. And the diet was whatever was put in front of them.

You can still work other body parts hard and hit your chest from different angles. Mix it up and be an average Joe.

Bronson, you know I get the feeling you're this boards self proclaimed know it all. I've let it slide in the past in the interest of the poster. It's fine to disagree with an opinion, that is your right. But what you posted here is beyond this. I have been training people for a number of years now. Many times a lot of people have the same concerns/challenges that you see over and over again. From this experience I am able to see not simply what the person is looking for in their direct question, but what I consider to be the underlying challenge...even if it's not asked that way directly. It may not sound as though I've anwsered the posters question specifically, but that's because I believe it's wrong mindset and am trying to address the underlying problem/challenge that will not only help them with their specific challenge, but will help them forge further ahead with their development beyond their question.

In case you haven't noticed I have never asked a question on this board. I only come here to try and help out others. It is one of my goals to be a good coach & role model to others. We all have different levels of knowledge and development and we are all tyring to imporve regardless of what our level is currently at. I don't lose sight of the fact that I too seek advice and look to improve myself. Because of that I want to be able to provide that back to others looking to improve themselves. But, since you seem to know everything Bronson and have called out my post I'm curious. What exactly are your qualifications? Do you have any degrees or certifications? Do you compete in anything? Or do you just read the internet? Best!

I never claimed to be a know it all. If I have a question, I ask it. I don't have a degree, so what, does that mean I can't ask a question or have an opinion or disagree if something has worked for me or others I know? If we went by who had a degree, you and a few others would be the only ones on here.

And even though I am just an average guy, I have agreed with you many times, and many times have said in my posts to ask Chris, you know that. But if something I have done or others I know have done and it has worked, then I question. Going by the book so to speak, does not always apply. But in most cases it probably does and I really should try to stay out of your way. Sorry!

Just being an average guy and being older I question things, just because of my lifes experience. I just know what has worked for me and others I know and it was not out of the text book, so I spout off. I will try not to do this anymore, I wil sit back and read.I read the internet for other opinions, so what.

You don't have to be a pro or have a degree to have an opinion. No I don't compete in weight lifting or sports anymore, I will be 50 this year. A lot of my own training and of my close friends have been suggested by a friend of mine who now lives in Georgia and strength trained. Now even though it would be outdated to many, I know it works. This is how he trained in 76 when Pitt won the national championship. It is more strength than bodybuilding. But since its 2007 and not 1976, things have changed and I will listen more to you younger guys and try to keep my mouth shut. Back then it was more of a heavy day, then a 80% or lighter work out for the next. Ok, I am all ears! I am not a know it all, but I am also not some young kid that is going to agree with everything that is said. If I play devils advocate, you explain things in detail! LOL. J/K. bronson.

Re: Chest Physique Help

I want to make it clear that I don't have a problem with your opinion, but rather in the way you sometimes make it as noted in the above. I don't like the way you called out my post in what read like a condisending attitude. I welcome different opinions from differents perspectives. It's our own personal experiences that make our opinions unique. I would just expect a little more courtesy from someone that is only here to help others and gives guidance and advice for free that I charge my clients for. I'm only here because I enjoy helping others and because I have a passion to excel. I seek guidance too from others more advanced than me & I want to help those that share my passion for bodybuilding & training. Remember, we're here to help each other achieve our physique goals. Best!

Re: Chest Physique Help

You go back and read post 2 and pretend you wrote it, and then go down to post 3 and pretend I wrote it. What would you think?

And you make good points, except when you said I never asked a question on here. That could of made you look like a know it all. LOL.Anyhow Chris, I'll let you young bucks take over the helm.

I have had my day in the sun. I did my part in the steroid forum, I don't give out steroid cycles, so thats done. I just holler at the young bucks not to dive in. LOL.

I am older, this is the new generation, I will try not to but in too much. Maybe I'll just read a little more. Maybe, sometimes us old goats can have a burst. LOL.
