So after MCT (Marine Combat Training) I've been looking into Men's Health for some dietary tips and work out advice. Does anyone else use this as a type of reference when they wanna bulk up some more or just get in shape?

Re: Men's Health

I have never subscribed to any of those magazines so I am not quite sure on how legit they are, but from what I understand a lot of the advice is not very "specific to you." Also, in many magazines, some of the content is written by random authors who don't really know THAT much about what they are writing.

I would suggest asking questions on the board about what you are looking for and what goals you have that way you can get more specific advice to you. Also, browsing the internet has a lot better information available, its just a little more difficult to find and it doesn't have a fancy cover.

Everyone here can help you find info on the net though as I'm sure you've seen.

Also, check this thread http://www.chronicfitness.com/forum/...magazines.html

Hope we can help ya out

my 2 cents

Re: Men's Health

The problem with the mags is they're made to make money, not be accurate. They have to come up with a new & exciting ways to get you in shape w/ every issue. Like "build 2 inches to your arms in 6 six weeks"....I don't think so! What works is usually pretty simple. I wouldn't use them as a valuable source of training info.

Very true, I dont buy into that whole, "This is going to make you stronger with out 3 week program" thing. But I did find some nice smoothie receipes, they were really delicious. But thanks for the information and advice and concerns everyone.
