Air-Force 24 Hour Relay Marathon

I know this isn't about Bodybuilding, but, I would have to say that this is the most physically taxing thing that I've ever done. LOL!!!

I've been lifting for about three years now and I'm in the middle of my cutting down for the summer period. When I run across a 24 hour relay marathon for Air-Force charity. So, I think about it for a couple of days and decide to see if my Squadron has a team for it. The requirements for it are one team of 10 runners. I found out that my squadron has a team so, I join.

Being in the military, you have to run for a little distance. So, I thought I was in pretty good running shape considering that I was cutting down and doing cardio about six times a week. Boy was I ever so wrong!!

I show up on Friday at noon to start the relay. Our team plan is to run three miles on the track and pass to the next runner on our team. And to try to keep a ten minute mile pace. Sounds easy. I'm the second one in the rotation. The first rotation of three miles was kinda tough just for the fact that I pushed it a little, being excited and all. So I ran it in 25 minutes. About four hours later, It was my turn again. The second three was even easier. Then four hours later came the third three miles. That was the easiest of all.

Well, I started to get tired and it was getting dark,so, I decided to take a small nap in my truck. I woke up about thirty minutes later and OH MY GOD!!!!! I had knots and stiffness all over my legs. HOLY CRAP!! So, I get out of my truck and walk around and stretch to try to get loose for my next run.

Here comes the PAIN!!! I start out the run and from my thighs to the arches in my feet was nothing but pain. So, I ran a little slower pace but got through those damn three miles. I am in a state of holy crap this sucks! LOL!! I had three more miles to go before I was done. Between the building of lactic acid, soreness of my legs, and the pain of the arches in my feet, I had to run three more miles. All day I've been drinking pineapple juices and eating bananas along with small bagels Gatorade and water. With Meal replacements about thirty minutes after runs.

The last three sucked, but I had make a goal and wasn't gonna drop it. I got through the last three miles and that is when I decided that just because marathon runners aren't big and strong looking, they are some bad motherfuckers (Parden the Language)!!!!!

I have decided to just stick to bodybuilding and leave the running to the runners. I'm not designed for that. HAHAHHAHHAHA!!!

Hahah sounds like a good experience man. Endurance running is definitely a way different workout than lifting. Now you see why people train to prepare for that eh?

Good job takin it like a champ tho
