Measuring Body Fat %

I have the accumeasure body fat calipers, but can't seem to get an accurate reading.

I generally test 3 times, and take the average as my BF%, but it varies every week by about 2%, yet I see no difference in the mirror.

I used a link on bodybuilding.com with videos of how to measure, but I still can't seem to get it right.

Any further tips or help?

Re: Measuring Body Fat %

I have never measured myself, I have only been measured by my nutritionist, however I was thinking that it might have something to do with measuring yourself at a consistent time.

Maybe each time you measure, you measure when you first wake up, or before you go to bed. I will think some more about this, sounds interesting - let me know if you have any revelations.

I measure at about 7 am every Tuesday as soon as I wake up.

Maybe I should measure on Thursdays?

It takes a lot of proactice to get it right and you will always have some variation, even if you get good at it. So just keep trying and keep in mind you will have some variation.

Re: Measuring Body Fat %

Sometimes results is something the mirror won't always tell you. You get used to seeing yourself every morning, to your- nothing changed. Just like since you were a kid you don't see yourself actually getting taller, but when people you haven't seen in years see you they say "wow you've grown up".

These are a couple of links that are suppose to be online bodyfat measures. See which is the most accurate reading.
