Preacher Bench Form

Hey whats goin on,
I was wondering while doing preacher bench today, whether or not I should have my back arched and leaning over the rest piece or have it straight? I can't seem to get a good feel on it.

thnx

I used to have this debate with myself too. Then I realized that although I thought it felt more comfortable to have the seat so high up, it in fact should have been lowered.

Try lowering the seat so that your armpits are snug with the top of the bench and keep your back as straight as possible to avoid putting stress on it.

It is an isolated bicep exercise.

Re: Preacher Bench Form

I think on that exercise it doesn't matter if your back is arched or not. What really matters is to make sure you don't use your back at all when during the excercise. Personally, I notice it's very hard to utlitize the back during the preacher curl based on the position the body is in. Just make sure to keep perfect form and avoid using your back on the excercise.

yes i'll go with the snug armpits cuz it usually keeps your triceps flat on the bench
