How much sleep do you REALLY need?

Question:

I have a demanding job and lifestyle, and often sleep gets sacrificed. I might get about 4-5 hours a night, which obviously is not ideal. What is the right number of hours? Are certain hours of the night more efficient than other times? If I fail to get enough sleep during the week, can I make up for it on the weekends?

Re: How much sleep do you REALLY need?

the amount of sleep that is required is depending on your nutrition mostly and then how demanding your day is phyiscally, mentally, and emotionally. someone i know is very hydrated and a high level of nutrition, he only sleeps 5 hrs. i noticed going threw highschool with long day of learning then working out i needed 8-9 hrs. in college i only needed 7 hrs. so if you love your job or just need it you have to take the bad with good. no you cant make up for lost sleep sorry the best is to keep your body clock the same. that is the only way to truely get quality rest
