Post Work-Out Shake and Honey

Sup

One of my friends always has a spoonful or two of honey after his work out and right before he has his protein shake. I remember him telling me something about glycemic index stuff and insulin.

Could anyone lightly brief me on the benefits of having a little honey after your work out and before your protein shake?

Probably a carb source. Most take a 2:1 carb : protein PWO.

This elevates your insulin levels. Honey or maltodextrine both work well.
