Why Water is Important

A few of us don't exactly know why we need to drink up to 2 gallons of water a day. A little research shows us why...
  1. Even if you are using AAS and are taking in the right amount of calories, proteins, fats and carbs, if you do not drink enough water you will not be able to metabolize your food effectively.
  2. Average people lose about 2.5 liters of water every day through breathing, eliminating waste and sweating. Those who workout can lose up to 10 liters a day.
  3. If you do not drink enough water, a muscle cell can shink and stimulate protein loss (catabolism.)
  4. Water is the main carrier of nutrients and supplements to muscle and red blood cells. No water / no grow.
  5. Water stimulates weight loss. Increasing water intake reduces fat deposits.
  6. Water maintains muscle stimulation and aids in muscle contraction.
  7. Water helps you maintain proper kidney and liver function.
    1. Kidneys clean the entire amount of your body's blood every 50 minutes. If you do not drink enough water, this is one of the organs that your body robs water from to maintain blood pressure.
  8. Water dilutes / breaks down important compounds (ie- foods, supplements) in the digestive track.
  9. Water clears out toxins from your blood stream including excess nitrogen in high protein diets.
  10. Water reduces fluid retention. The more water you make available to your body, the less it stores in extra cellular spaces.
Have you drank enough water today?

I posted this article on another site to help keep the focus on proper water intake. I hope all of us here can benefit from it as much as the others have!
