does anyone know if there is a general site that has listings of all of the bodybuilding competitions (around the world, just in the US or whatever) that are coming up or have happened?

seems like there are bits and pieces of competition dates everywhere

You got it bud. If you're a first time competitor the most important factor is most likely going to be the competition's site proximity to where you live. Most organizations will have similar rules, but if you're a serious competitor I would recommend the National Physique Commitee (NPC). They are probably the largest and most competitive organization in the US & is the only place here to earn an IFBB pro card. But, don't be intimidated by that for a first time competitor, they have many competitions at the local level across the country where you can compete as a novice, or someone who has never won a weight class in an NPC event.
