hatebreed does it for me just look at the name. i refuse to lift without my ipod. i started a workout a few months ago and everything felt heavy as hell, i then came to the realization that i didn't have my headphones on. no music=no gym

I love all three of those. Great pump up songs, you might also like the Eye of the Tiger remix by DMX. (And regular Eye of the Tiger).

Re: Personal Workout Music vs Gym Music

Why do guys like "angry" music? just curious...can someone explain this to me? I don't like being angry, anger is a negative emotion to ME and depressing.

I like happy upbeat dance sorta music/beats to train to...especially all cardio and swimming (yea, swimming...I have a otterbox for my ipod, totally waterproof)

speaking for myself who use to listen to rock when lifting. it is not so much anger but more like fight songs. get the a. glands pumping which changes your mind set into full fight mode which is what your doing. you are mentally preparing your body to lift heavy weights since the mind doesnt understand lifting weights. it understands to survive it has to push the weight off itself (if your doing bench). now this would be silly to do this if your doing liter weights which i assume you use. so you dont have to be in survival mentality.
