| Re: Arching My Back on Bench Press? If you are concerned about chest develpment more geared toward bodybuilding I would advise this. (1) Lying on the bench keep your legs further apart this gives you less of a chance of arching your back because your weight is further spread out. (2) Pull your back and shoulder blades together as if squeezing a coke can between your back, you are to keep this form as you are bench pressing it takes the stress off your shoulders and puts it all on your chest. You will notice that you can't lift as much weight this way because your are only pushing with your chest |
