Guys, muscle soreness is lactic acid build up in your muscles. Thats why newbies at weight training, taking a little time off, or increasing weights can cause soreness. Now, I'll tell you a personal opinion from lifting, and I think dumbell flat bench works my chest like nothing else. Barbell works your shoulders, triceps and outter pecs a little more.

So if you're not getting sore, it's fine. I don't really get sore either unless I come back from a break. As long as you're making yourself increase weight and slowly work your way up in weights it's all good.
