| Re: Vegetarian Diets and Bodybuilding? I was a vegetarian when I started out. Protien powder, dairy, soy products and legumes made up my protein. Then I found out I'm soy intolerant, so that cut my choices down. I honestly had a MUCH easier time both gaining muscle and losing fat once I started eating meat. Though a lot of people do quite well on vegetarian diets.
