| Re: 90 Degree Angles should never be broken - Acute angles are the devil I'm not quite sure about this rule. For instance, to break parallel when squatting, one must bend ones knees to much less than a 90 degree angle. Also, when benching, one must bend ones arms to an angle less than 90 degrees to touch ones chest. Contrary to what was said previously, 3 inches makes A LOT of difference. Bench does not just work your chest. It works your tris, shoulders, and various other muscles. That's what it's supposed to work. There's a reason that one has to touch one's chest and pause before pressing at powerlifting meets; it's a good way to test general upper body strength. |
