From a "gain" standpoint, my largest gains were in muscle endurance. When I was lifting hard and heavy, trying to hit more than 15 reps with moderate to heavy weight was tough. At this time (bulking,) I could rep out 225lbs 17 times on the bench press. After GVT, I upped that to 23.
