Personal Workout Music vs. Gym Music
Some of the best motivation in your workout can come from music. However, often the music provided by the gym sucks if you are at a club which has a very large range of clients. A great alternative to this is to bring your own music.

Gym Workout Music

Depending on what gym you go to and what their rules are for music, you may have noticed that their music sucks. This is a common problem in most gyms because the gym must be able to suit all of their clients which would include varying tastes of what the best workout music is (techno, hip hop, christian, rock, etc).

Horrible workout music can certainly hinder your ability to maximize intensity just as much as good workout music can skyrocket your potential. The easiest solution is obviously asking if the gym will play a different radio station or CD.

Personal Workout Music

However, another way to achieve the incredible drive from workout music is by using your own mp3 or CD player. One of my friends just purchased the iPod Nano and says it has been incredible. He also got the armband pouch to go with it which is a light strap that goes around your arm and has a pocket for the iPod.

Check out the iPods at a reliable place such as Amazon or EBay. Normally you will find the best prices online and at a well known website that can afford the discounts.

This is a great way to boost your workout because you can include whatever workout music gets you pumped up and during upper body workouts the strap tightens as you get the pump. This can be a very motivating feeling because it shows a distinct progress and growth.

A cheap mp3 player works just fine because you should only need one with enough space for songs which take up a total of one hour. There is no need for thousands of songs in the gym.
